about

In summer 2015, three things happened:
The band fell apart, I moved to Harrisonburg Virginia after living in NYC for five years, and I took an acting gig for the national tour of Million Dollar Quartet.
The first leg of that tour was a nine-week stint at a dinner theater in Fort Myers, Florida called The Broadway Palm.
As I set course for The Palm I knew I was leaving music behind; maybe for good. Nevertheless I brought a box of books and the bare essentials of my home studio with me (a mic pre, interface, laptop, guitar, pedalboard, Arturia synth, headphones and a few mics).
After I got settled in Ft. Myers I set all of my studio gear up in the living room of a rented condo I shared with the other actors. It was how I staved off depression, home sickness, and the loss of my identity.
Most of these songs were recorded and mixed there.
My recording studio was not an escape pod; It was a portal to return to who I really was.
It was my mental health kiosk.
I loved my little Broadway Palm Mental Health Kiosk.
I hope you do too.
-Matt
